Get Back has proved to be something so brilliant it's almost beyond comprehension, BUT is anyone else as pissed as I am about the ludicrous over-use of split screen on the rooftop?
I guess we finally got to see Molly on the roof (doing the jitterbug to Dig a Pony with John Michael 'Hollywood' Howsen) So that's one urban myth that's been put to bed.

I loved the use of split screens on the rooftop. Fantastic use of all the available angles.

Yeh the point I was making was that it wasn't the use of split screen that riled me, it was the 'over-use'. I'd estimate that at least 90% of the vision was split screen....I felt like i needed eye drops while watching it.
However, I most loved the view from the opp angle when John fluffs the line in Don't Let Me Down and Paul is seen watching him like a hawk to see if he's going to screw up the next line. Fabulous.
When John delivers the 'everybody had a hard year' refrain, I wanted to see that in it's singular glory, not sharing the screen with a riot of other things like street scenes.
When I re-watch this over coming years, am I wanting to watch vision of the cops bumbling in the foyer and the vox pops in the street again and again? Probably not.
I just hope that the BluRay will offer an optional extra that allows us to view the concert in a more pure context.

PS: While were at it, can we get Whacko Jacko onto the original reels of Magical Mystery Tour and knock it into shape like he's done here?
Just a thought.
